FUNDRAISING LETTER FOR LOVE CONNECTION PROJECT 11th – “LIVE WITH LOVE.”

Dear friends and supporters,

The project will be organized for community of Xuan Thanh Mission station of Thanh Son town, Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai province. In charge of the Mission station is Priest Michael Nguyen Chi Hung. There is a wooden chapel in town which has been vacant since 1993 because of unapproved license. Currently, Catholic community gathers in a person’s house for Masses.

Local people earn their living by farming, forest cultivating, catching crabs and fish around small ponds and lakes. The soil here is arid. Most of them are very poor, which makes their spiritual life more difficult. There are 3000 people in the Catholic community, and only 350 out of 500 Catholic children attending catechism classes on Saturday and Sunday, which has been taken care of by only Priest Michael.

God has brought us – Gioitreconggiao.org (Young Catholics Group) – to Priest Michael’s wishes in organizing small events or similar activities for not only Catholics, but also non-Catholics to diversify and improve their life, make people feel closer to the church and bring God to them. Priest Michael has been caring very much about local people’s life. He tries to find out many ways to improve their spiritual life as well as their living condition but there are still lots of difficulties ahead.

Therefore, we decided to organize the “11th Love Connection” charitable event at Easter for people in this Mission station. The event named “Live with Love” will be held on 18th and 19th of April, 2015. The program includes different activities, such as: food fair, mini games and activities for 800 children from 6 to 15 years old; Bible quizzes, performances, lottery, giving presents for 50 households, granting a new house; giving medical care, treatment and medicines for 200 people, sharing clothes, making bookshelves, and so forth… Total estimated expense is approximately 91 million Vietnam Dong.

As we are strongly faithful in where God has been leading us to, we rely on the generosity of individuals’ donations. Every donation makes a difference for us, regardless of size. We also appreciate any artifacts support like food, books, notebooks, studying tools, toys, comic books, etc. as gifts for children.
